Guinn Wins Again at Tazewell in UCRA Action
Tazewell, TN (8/19/23) --- Saturday night at Tazewell Speedway in East Tennessee near the Kentucky border local racer Aaron Guinn (#97) of nearby Russellville, dominated the 40 lap, United Championship Racing Alliance - UCRA feature. The CG Motorsports/Mahle Motorsport, Cowboy Don Wakerman, Quality Masonry, Phillips Excavating, Hopson Racing and Fabrication, Lakeway Title Service, Sam Neil Insurance, MCROD, Bill's Excavating, Russellville Barber Shop, McBride Security, and Fastlane Signs and Graphics" sponsored CVR racer led 35 laps of the feature, holding off the Reigning/Defending and two-time Red Line Synthetic Oil UCRA champion Kenny Kizzar of Sale Creek, TN and current points leader Kasey Hall of Geraldine, AL in a chase to the checkers. Guinn started 6th in the feature but moved ahead after a crash involving Travis Fultz and Bradley Lewelling. Guinn's efforts took him to the nights $3000 prize, with a bonus trip to Victory Lane for his young son, atop dads racecar. Fellow UCRA regular and 2023 Rookie of the Year contender Matt Shannon of Delano, TN finished fourth with another local Tazewell Speedway racer Tyler Smith rounding out the Top 5. Former UCRA points leader Jessie Hughes of Crossville, AL finished a disappointing 10th. Full results are listed below. The next events for the UCRA come Saturday and Sunday nights Labor Day weekend, September 2nd & 3rd at Clanton, AL's Buckshot Speedway and Blue Ridge, GA's Sugar Creek Raceway. The event at Crossville Speedway in the Cumberland Plateau of East TN has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 9th along with last weekends rain out at Fort Payne Motor Speedway in Northeast AL for Saturday, September 16th.
